Late Heavy Bombardment

"Who knows whether this tumult of triangles inscribed in stone, first brought about by nature and then by art, does not contain one of the secret cyphers of the universe?" Roger Callois

This project is an investigation into the pattern inside iron meteorites, photographed at the Natural History Museum's archive in London.

These meteorites were formed around 4.5 billion years ago at the beginning of our solar system. It is thought that life may have arrived on Earth on a meteorite. They spend uncountable years travelling through space, acquiring mass through chance encounters, growing, changing. The Widmanstätten pattern uncovered when they are cut open reveals a sensibility, perhaps even a message hidden in their very structure.
